Closing of Fire Mountain Kitchen, LLC

I wanted to let all you know that I will be shuttering Fire Mountain Kitchen effective December 31, 2018.    The business was started in the winter of 2015 and has grown during the past 4 ½ years, thanks to your patronage and support.  The ironic part of retiring this business at this point in time is that 2018 has finally shown a profit with promising trends for more growth in 2019.

The reason I am shuttering the business is for personal reasons only and not due to financial or regulatory issues.   New York State Agriculture and Market will reactivate my license if and when I decide to reopen.

I have many people to thank for their support and ideas.  My sister Nanci, and my husband Jeff have been the most supportive.  Local friends have been helpful in spreading the word about Fire Mountain’s products and have assisted me in doing field testing prior to the release of any new item.    I have benefited because I have satisfied a passion of mine to learn about the science of food and gained a clear understanding of the safety regulations of what goes into producing shelf-stable products.

I encourage any of you to become a small business person especially in the area of locally produced food production.  There is an immense sense of satisfaction in interacting with and selling to the public, especially in local farmer’s markets and street fairs.  It is even better when you develop a brand recognition in the community.

Thank you again for supporting Fire Mountain Kitchen, LLC.
